Maybe misfiring and burning oil...

In another post I described what seems to be missing at crusing speeds on the interstate at about 70 miles an hour. Seems to start doing this on a slight incline. I got two replies that seem to think it could be the coil packs... any other ideas here?

In the same day it started smelling like it was burning oil like it were leaking around the valve covers. It is still real clean under there and I cant find a leak. Are these fords prone to this?

Lastly, I think its time to have the tranny power flushed. I know that it takes Mercon V fluid. Other than the Ford dealer does anyone have reccomendations about who to trust to do this? Would a SpeedLube be ok?

Looking for answers, this is a family ride... I have 4 kids and a wife. Thanks to all for taking the time to read, especially those that contribute!

There's not much to go on so here is a possibality.
The misfire may be loading up the cats with raw fuel causing them to overheat and burning the underside of the floor as a result
Could be faulty coil pak.
Good luck.
