5.0 Cammer Swap- Anyone Done It?

I've been looking around at mods for the '04 4.6L... Pickin's seem to be slim, but while I was searching, I found the cammer in the ford racing parts' crate engine catalog. It doesnt list a price, but I seem to remember that it was somewhere around 12-15k.

Now, my questions are these- has anyone done this swap? I would assume that the 5.0 Cammer is going to have the same mounts as the 4.6L, since its based on that block (albeit as a DOHC). What about the driveline? would I need to change the axle or diff gears (3.55 4x4). I also plan on doing a 6" fabtech lift in '05.

Also, the catalog states that it will have several different computers available for different applications, but it comes as a complete package w/ A/C compressor, alternator, power steering pump, etc.

Alternatively, I've been thinking of getting an '05 superduty sCrew w/ a powerstroke, since I'll still be hauling my boat.

I am certain that there is a way to get the Cammer in your truck, though I don't know enough about its mounting.

One thing is for sure, you won't have any trouble pulling your boat with it!

Good Luck!

Ruune,
I don't know about the "cammer" but the 5.0 Stroker shortblock can be had here:
http://www.modularmustangracing.com/
for about $3500. You can port the heads you have and it will go a little faster... Or get a blower...

Happy Holidays everyone.
