VERY LOUD lifter tick, need help-advise
About a year ago, My truck sat idel in the yard for about a week in 20 degree weather. When cranked this lifter started ticking for the first time but quickly went away.
Last night it got real cold. Went to crank it up and there it was again. This time it took about 5mi. of driving for it to disappear.
Infact, I was enroute to the mechanic and it disappeared when I pulled in the driveway(talking about great timing
)
He tells me it was probably trash that moved. What do you guys think? Am I heading for trouble with this. Is there and additive that you might suggest.? Is it an easy job to fix one in a 1994
5.0? The noise is gone but can I hurt something driving it while it's ticking?
Thanks Brian

oil in car
is your oil rated for the weather you are using it in.
5 whatever and 30 whatever will not work for cold starting
and your lifter is probably the first one with a little tolerance
problem,along with oil in the pan not at the lifter,its not happy.
read more at API board for oils to see your match,or
gopurepower.com and link to it.
