I have a 97 F-150 that I have swapped a 02 gt 4.6 into. I used a 01(f-150) upper and lower intake, throttle body and injectors. I've also added summit shorty headers. Other then that everything from the gt stayed on(spark plugs also). I kept the maf, the ignition coil system and wiring harness from the 97 f-150.
Now to the problem. It's missing very badly and has no power whatsoever. It runs and idles but it backfires(pops) at idle and under heavy acceleration. It seems to start fine. Would a chip solve all these problems or do I have other problems I must address first? I took it for about a 5-10 mile ride and it didn't improve any and maybe even got a little worse.
No check engine light at all yet either.

Truck has an airraid, flowmaster cat-back accel coil packs and electric fan.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I should slap myself!!!! 2 plug wires were screwed up. She runs like a top now wooohoooo!!!! Can't wait to chip it to feel the extra power.

I am not sure if this helps you any, but I just went through the same thing with my engine swap. It ran fine for a couple of months. Then it started sounding funny went to Ford garage and they wanted to replace the sensors and it would "only" cost me about 900. I had somebody do it for me and it was expensive but not 900. Check engine light came on and it still acted funny went to another place put it on the computer and it had a misfire. Took it back to ford asked about it paid 80 put it on the computer and it was the injectors. So u might want to have those checked. I ended up paying 275.00. I am beginning to hate I didnt just trade it off. Well it is paid for and I was tired of payments.I dont know if this helped but. I thought I would tell u.

I went through the plug changes also.
