Not really a bad thing, when you think about. But this was an air filter thread. For all we know the Fram is made by K&N, and just marketed under the fram name. I know I haven't done any research on them. Lets find out, and stop the oil filter bashing.,,,,98:santa:

No one's bashing... just telling the truth. Waiting for someone to respond intelligently.

The only thing more worthless than a highjacked thread, is a mouthbreather post about a highjacked thread. Unless someone's got input on Air Hog filters (which it appears NOONE has), then we've officially changed the subject.

Hey Witey - Glad your frams are working good for you. I don't suppose you've bothered to read any of the informative links above. At the same time, I've yet to see anything useful come from you regarding why we should all switch to the bright orange filter - Other than the fact that you've used it for 125K. Congratulations, and good luck in the future. Please proceed to stick your head further in the sand.

Your link tells me that the Fram Tough Guard is a decent oil filter. And the general concensus at Bob's on the Fram X2 series is that it also is an ok filter.

I guess you didn't read my whole post previously. Most Frams are crap, they make a few OK ones.

But the ok ones are premium, and cost more. At these prices there are better alternatives like K&N or Mobil 1 among others.

Question

Also, name calling is the fastest way to get a thread locked. Lets back to air filters, and drop the oil filter BS.,,,,98

i'm still waitin for you to say somethin intelligent.like he said that site said they are decent filters, and am i preachin tryin to convert everybody to fram?no.i could care less what everybody else uses and you can proceed to kiss my ***.when somebody asks your OPINION give it to em and drop it.when somebody has a good reason for me to switch i will.but you tellin me to go to a web site that says they're decent filters is definitely not gonna make me switch.and i've yet to see anything useful come from you period.unless your sole purpose in life is to annoy the hell out of me cause you won't shut up.and i'm done readin this since nobody wants to talk about air filters anymore so go ahead and say what you want about me like i care what you think anyway.

Lets all hold hands and sing Kumbia .......Seriously, how did a simple question about AIR filters turn into this bashing? It looks as though the best thing to do is delete this thread.

amsoil filter????

I just recently bought my f-150 and have no idea what kinda air filter but in my last car i got a deal on some amsoil stuff. the amsoil airfilter material was comparable (by sight) to a k&n but it also had a foam prefilter that was oiled to catch all the miniscule stuff. i dont know if it is better but was alot lower in price.
as far as an oil filter i know the amsoil oil filter is rated at 6 months or 12,000 miles but i will probably just run motorcraft stuff unless i run into a killer deal again.

Amsoil has a reputation for making quality products. I don't have any info on their air filters, but I wouldn't hesitate to use one.
