I have an 85 F150 with a 4.9. The engine hesitates on acceleration. The roller pin in the distributor shaft has broken twice. This was repaired with a new distributor, plugs, wires as well as fuel filter. Any suggestions?

 

Check your dist. shaft for play in the housing, dist. housing for play in the bolck bore, & timming chain for wear. The holes in the shaft and gear might be worn oblong and cutting into the pin. You could also get a solid dowel pin to replace the roll pin.
