Starter Problems?

Starter Problems?

I went to start my truck today and it would crank, but it not turn over. The battery is fine. Is this probly the starter?

please help

You say, "it would crank, but it not turn over".

Are you saying that the engine cranked over, but wouldn't fire??

Or are you saying that nothing happens when you turn the key??

The engine would not fire, but it would crank when I turn the key.

also another symptom,

before the truck would not even start-
Every now and then i would start the truck.
Then the RPMs would go up like normal, but then just crash and the truck would die unless i gave it some gas.


might help?

my 97 4.6 does this too, only when its 40 or below, a side note though, when it gets cold out, the belt makes noise, at least i think its the belt; anyway.. mine too, won't turn over unless i give it alot of gas and am patient to it warming up...
