knocking

i have a 1998 f150 with the 4.6. when im on the gas not to the floor i hear a loud knocking nosie. the pedal is only half throttle and its only from 30 mph and up till it shifts. so i am confused?

I also have some performace parts such as bbk throttle body, helix power tower spacer, granatelli mass air flow censor, hyper tech power programmer, k&n injection kit, pace setter ceramic headers, electirc fan.

Could this parts be part of the problem or do i have something bigger to worrie about. im just getting ready to put it away for the winter. So if there is something big i can rip the motor out and have it ready for next summer. so any one have any ideas?

Sounds like mid throttle ignition advance is to much.
Retard it if the programmer will allow.

I have a 1997 f150 V6. My truck had the same problem last year. My problem was with the pistons hitting my spark plugs. I replaced my spark plugs and put them back in correctly and I haven't heard the knocking since. This is only a suggestion, I am kind of new with this.
