check engine

i have a 3 inch body lift on my 1997 xlt with the 4.6, the shift cable is now rubbing on the wiring harness of the O2 sensor, i i bend the cable the shift lever gets screwed up, what do you suggest i do, any info would be great, the engine light gos on because of it, and i'm trying to sell the truck, engine llight isnt a good sale perk.

From: St. Louis (Out in the woods)
Do one of the following:


1: Remove the lift.

2: Splice in a longer set of wires so they can be secured away from the cable.

3: Replace the sensor with one that has a longer wiring harness so it can be secured away from the cable.

disconnect the wire that goes to the engine light. "then they will have a truck that will never have a check engine light"
