yup back when frances came through florida, it left waist high water all through the neighborhood, so i think....hey i need some bateriesso i wade through the water and hop in my truck, start the beast up and get about 200 yrds away from my home when it stalls after the water gets deeper and its coming over my hood i push it back to somwhat dryer ground and take the sprk plugs out and try to crank it to get the water out. i go to turn the key and nothing happens, all you hear is a loud CLICK so i know the starter is engaging and the batery is good after i give up on that for that day i park it in the driveway until the water goes down. so about a week later i try and put a socket on the crankbolt and manually turn the engine with the saprkplugs out to get the water out. thing dont budge at all, in fact i think i just tightend it
yall think im screwed up the but? i got an engine sittin in the garage but really dont wanna go through an engine swap

hey, i have an idea. take a good penetrating lube like PB Blaster(look at autozone, if you cant find that, then just go with wd-40) and spray a generous amount into each spark plug hole. if you got water inside of your cylinders, it probably rusted, and the rings are hanging up on the rust. let the lube set over night, and when you try it the next morning, spray some more lube in. if that dosent work, try using dexronIII mercon tranny fluid. it is a good penetrant also. Good Luck!!!
also if you get your engine to turn over, then you probably have some electrical to replace, and air filter, engine oil, oil filter, and tranny fluid and filter as well as rear axel. if these are sumerged in water at any time, you need to replace the fluid
Driving in water that deep can cause all sorts of problems, worst case being hydro-locking the engine if it gets sucked into the air intake. Since water doesn,t compress in the cylinders it does damage to the bottom end of the engine if it is running. I have a friend that had this happen to his Explorer going through water and it cost him an engine.
I hope your problems are only electrical or rust.

hey before you lift the engine, fill the cylinders with tranny fluid, and let it soak. besides, what have you got to lose? if this works, and you get it running, dont run it for very long. drain the oil, and refill with proper oil and filter. best of luck to you!
