Engine not running well

Hi, my brother in law has a f150 1997 v8.

The problem with the engine is that it runs fine for a couple of hundred meters and then begins to stutter.
If he turns off the engine and starts it again the problem is gone but returns when he drives again.

I know he has just changed one of his catalytic converters.

Any ideas?

Sounds like fuel starvation.

Tell him to perform a fuel pressure test.

Could be a weak fuel pump of a restricted filter/fuel line. If the filter is old, just replace it.

What did they do with the O2 sensors when the replaced the cats? Did they leave them unpluged? Does it do it on a cold engine, warm or both?
