P0402

Ok, i got a service engine light. Went to autozone, and found out it was P0402, EGR excessive flow detected. I changed my EGR valve, and the light came back a few days later with the same code, just wondering where to go next..

I was thinking about the EGR vacuum regulator. Also, where the heck is the DPFE sensor located. its not where the picture in my haynes manual shows it is. ( its a 2001 4.6 supercrew)

any tips would be really appreciated.

BTW the truck is for sale in the classifieds if anyone is interested.

First step is to see what has happened on previous occurrences of a specific code that has been discussed.

Click on the SEARCH button, enter your code (P0402) as the search keyword and see what turns up.

A statement was made on this board that said 95% of the time the P0402 code is related to a bad DPFE.

I also remember someone saying that the DPFE sensor location moved ...
