Angry Bad COP #6, why no code?s

Why is it that when my DPFE was bad I got a CEL and P0401 code even though the truck ran perfect, but when I had a bad COP on the # 6 Cylinder, It wouldn't throw a code?

Keep in mind the truck was running TERRIBLE, at times bucking like a horse.

It would have saved me a lot of time testing TPS, IAC, using Seafoam, changing Fuel Filter, and running gas out (thinking bad gas) . It was under warranty no problem, but WTF

Sorry, Just had to vent

Well, nothings perfect.

It seems that my truck ran for quite a while before I got the check engine light when I lost a COP.
