In my opinion, "TOO MUCH" You will spend way more than either of these trucks is worth trying to Frankenstein one of them. Sell the 85 and find you an 87-91 300FI auto with a rotten or banged up body---then go to work.

It is kinda difficult to put the two together. If you are going to do it you need to go either all one way or the other. By that I mean that either use all non computer manual components or all computerized components. The other things (beside the obvious lack of computer stuff) to think about would be ignition wiring, fuel pump (the electric one for the FI will blow the needle and seat right out of the carb because of the increased pressure).

I have heard of people doing this before and I think all they needed to do was swap everthing and then use the new distributor with the computer and keep the carb. Bottom line is that it won't be easy any way it goes and if everything is sound what about just swapping long blocks and keeping the FI stuff? I think the intake will swap between the two long blocks.

Just some thoughts
