Flex-a-Lite 270 Again

Yes I wrote in a couple of weeks ago about installing the FLEX-A-LITE 270 electric fan, thanks for the input and as I said then I have decided to buy it and install it myself. The question I have now is, I have since found out that I have the dreaded 1.5 inch radiator instead of the 2.2 inch one, the radiator is in perfect condition with coolant changed every year and only 37,000 miles on it. should I change the radiator or will the new fans give it the cooling power it needs under any conditions. The vehicle again is a 2001 F-150 supercrew 4x4 5.4 LT. I do not do much towing at this point in time but will be pulling a horse trailer with two horses in the future. Thanks again. tpope

The 1.5" is not the dreaded one. The small one is the 1". The 1.5" and the 2.2" interchange depending on year. The 1.5" is what has been used since your production year for the HD cooling package. It is used in the Lightning and is perfectly adequate for your mentioned use.
