Question Removing the Throttle Body ?

Hi Guys!!

I'm planning to get my hands dirty this weekend and try to remove the throttle body of my '98 F150 4.6 to clean the EGR conducts, i have some instructions already but i have some questions:

1.- do i have to buy some gaskets for the throttle body?
2.- i'm going to remove the EGR valve, do i need to buy a gasket to the EGR valve?

i don't want to be stocked during the proccess and realize that i should had some items before removing the throttle body, so could you guys can give me any advice on what to buy before doing this thing?

Thanks for all

There is no gasket between the TB and manifold.

you should not need anything unless you tear a gasket at the intake elbow to lower intake other than that no gaskets

I picked up new gaskets for the IAC, EGR valve and throttle body before I removed and cleaned those. I did not want to tear a gasket and be stuck without a replacement. I got some at an auto parts store and some at the ford dealer.

I also had the cel on in my 2000 expedition and i found on this forum to clean the ports inside the elbow to the manifold. I was able to do this with out alot of mechanical knowledge thanks to this forum. My cel is now off and truck is running good. Thanks to everybody who post on here to help people like me. You all saved me alot of money by not having to go to a dealer. Thanks

I also cleaned the EGR ports of my 4.6 this weekend.

Went well and runs a lot better.

Still an error code ("Misfire in #7")

I don't know if I can change all the plugs myself. Maybe #7 is easy to get at.

Is there a diagram of which cylinders are which?

#1 is the front passenger cylinder, #4 is the rear passenger, #5 is the front drivers side, and #8 is the rear drivers side.

So #7 is the 3rd back on the drivers side.
