how many years?,
I just turned 26K on my 02' F150, have had it for exactly three years now averaging just over 8.5K miles/yr. When would be good time to change the hoses and belt? I've aleady had the tranny fluid changed and fuel filter, along with 4/month oil changes.....thanks
I replace the belt when it starts to show cracks in the ribs... Usually every two years or so. I'm over 130k miles and 7 years and still on my original hoses however!!
I check them often and they still seem fine... I know they rot from the inside out and all, but I've not felt any 'soft' spots or noticed anything out of the ordinary on the outside.... I do change the coolant every 18 months however, so don't know if that helps or not.....
I've been thinking about doing the upper and lower ones anyway, just for piece of mind..... Going on a long road trip soon, so I want as much stuff as I can done to it before hand.... But what about the heater hoses?? I can't see how you even get to those ones?? And they look like the kind that are "pressed" onto the core fittings directly... Do you have to replace the entire core, to replace the hoses??
Humm.... Now, I'm thinking about this stuff too much......
Good luck!
Mitch
