i own a 99 f150 supercab 4x4, 5.4 triton with 85,000 mi. it's been a great vehicle but a week ago on cruise control at 73 mph, on flat ground, it either kicked into passing gear or disengaged overdrive, but the engine began racing and topped out, the accelerator was stuck on the floor, the truck began shaking and all i could do was kill the engine. once it was towed home i found a hole in the left side of the oil pan. anyone had such fun? ford says tough luck basically.

that sucks, if it makes you feel any better me and my freind threw a rod out the botttom of his oil pan, the even worse news he has 30,000$ in the engine, the block alone was 10,000$ and we only had it running for a month with the new turbo system, so dont worry someone always has it worse than you

I am sorry big that is a bad comparison! Your buddy spent a ton modding his engine to the hilt and it let go. he knew the risks.

This was just driving a long in his full boat stocker and it went haywire and blew a rod.

No flame intended just a little surprised by your reply to this post.

To answer the question in the post I have not heard or seen on here anyone that had happen what just happend to your truck.
