Fuel Injector recommendations?

What brand of fuel injectors have you used when replacing them? Any bad stories with Bosch? A long story short, I bought some rebuilt injectors that were crap and the guy has screwed me over. I'd rather not pay $100+ each for new injectors from Ford. I have a 98 5.4L.

I've been told that 19lb injectors are too small and that factory injectors were around 22-23lb.

you can buy injectors for a set of 8 for around $200 to $220, brand new, i bought as et of 24# about 7 or 8 months ago from tommy vaughn ford in houston. our trucks have 19#

if you just buy one then yes the price is arounf $80 or $90 per part

Yeah this F.I. prob has pissed me off so bad here lately. Ford dealership wanted $1200 plus tax to replace all injectors. I bought a set of "rebuilt" ones for $230. I hear different stories about what size injector are factory. Dang I wish I had a carburetor on it. I could have gotten a set of 19lb SVO injectors for around $200 bucks new or so, but was told they were too small.

HI!... All 4.6, 5.4 truck engines come with 19LB fuel injectors (ORANGE body). They can support up to 304H.P at the flywheel. I bought FORD MOTORSPORT 24LB injectors from SUMMIT RACING a few years back for just $189.00(U.S).

Well if this guy sends me crap injectors again, I'll just buy some Ford Motorsport injectors. Maybe I'm thinking that fuel injectors are more complicated than they really are. If I put an injector thats too big, say a 24lb injector, it will run rich right? Or if I put a smaller injector on it, it'll run lean right? I know that the truck's computer tells the injector how long to stay open, but it can't sense what size injector is in it and make changes to the pulsewidth accordingly, correct?

i have been told that the computer has about a 10% window of injector size. so if configured for a 19# injectors you could get away with a 20 or 21 but a 24 will cause you problems unless you get the computer corrected. dont get caught up in the size, the 19 works fine for most bolt ons and unless you are changing major parts like heads or cams, you will probably see no benefit from a bigger injector, unless you have a blower, the intake and heads and cams just wont allow you to make big hp numbers.

Ok finally ordered a set of 19lb injectors from Summit ($209). I have a Superchip in my truck and have had for 4+ years. My question is, since I have injectors that arent factory tuned, would I need to have my chip reprogrammed? Or would it be beneficial to have it reprogrammed. The guy at Summit questioned whether they would work, and said to call Ford Motorsports and ask them if I would need to reprogram the comp.
