Cruise Control not working - No light nothing
Cruise Control not working - No light nothing
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My cruise control is completely not functioning. I looked for a fuse and could not find it (looked in my ford owners manual). Can anyone tell me where the fuse is and what else is it linked to. I press the on button and nothing happens. Also, my hazard lights do not function either (surely not related as the hazard lights went awhile ago). I checked the fuses and they look good, any other suggestions?

are you sure you are using it correctly?
when you push the "on" button you are only "arming" the cruise control and no light comes on. next you must be going over 30-35mph or so for it to work. once you reach your desired speed you push the "set" button and the truck should then hold the speed.
your hazzard flasher (if the fuse is known to be o.k.) is under the oval panel on top of the dash board you just carefully pry it up and it is in there. (not sure which relay it is though)

check the vacume lines on the cruse controle module under your hood, follow the linkage on the side of your throttle body to the controler with the vehicle running disconect the line and see if you have vacume there, if there is none you have a vacume leak and you need to trace it down to find it
I don't know what year your truck is.
However the pressure switch on the master cylinder in late model trucks are known to leak, causing a short, and eventually blowing fuse #15.
Check the pressure switch by removing the plug in the switch and look down the switch connector. If there is brake fluid in there, replace the switch (Dealer item). Then check fuse #15 in the cab fuse bank. Since you are not having problems with gear selection (in automatics), I assume the fuse is OK
Good luck

The cruise on my 97 also went stone dead, servo motor was the culprit. I found a new one on e-bay for 12.00 bucks, can you believe that?
It only took 1/2 hr to swap out, may or may not be the problem, good luck.

I've had weird stuff like that happen on my 98, and 99% of the time it's a loose fitting fuse. It will be fully plugged in, and not burned, yet not make the connection. Twisting the blades slightly in opposite directions seems to do the trick. If something stops working I check the fuse, and sometimes it's not even there. I usually find it somewhere in the floorboard, lol. My cover is long gone of course, a fuse tap mishap. I will never use one again. Don't assume that just because the fuse isn't burned, that it's making the connection.,,,,98
