Life of the 5.4L 3V engine

I have a new 2004 F150 XLT 4x4. With proper oil changes and normal driving. How many miles can I expect out of the 5.4L engine? How long before it starts to use oil, etc? Does anyone have any prior experience?

You could in theory take the heads and intake and bolt them up to the 2V 5.4 so as far as the short block goes it will just be as reliable. The only other thing that would cause me some concern is the cam sprockets. They house the variable valve timing mechanism.
