Starting Problem..........

This is strange. When it is very warm outside (vehicle is cold...not been run) and I try and start it it just cranks and does not start. It seems to be very random and not at every start-up. Also on just a few occasions it had a strange surge issue when coming to a stop but not very often.

If I simply pump the gas pedal once to the floor, it will start up EVERYTIME. This strange thing seems to happen only when it is very warm outside (maybe just coincidence but that's what I notice).

BTW: no engine lights or anything..............

Some have suggested the "Idle Air Control Valve" may be bad. I have a 2002 F-150, 5.4. Any ideas???????

Thank you

I would try cleaning the IAC valve. It is located on/near the throttle body and looks sort of like a can,
