Check all vacuum lines, esp. the ones running to and from the pcv valve. These are known to get holes in them and throw that particular code.Good luck and keep us posted.

CODE P0174

I still have not checked the pcv hoses yet , I did spray my MAF

sensor with contact cleaner but the light came back after 11 miles

after I reset the computer I wanted to add another thing , I have

not had any rough idling

that I can tell, Will this seem to point to a certain set of things to

look at first? (OXYGEN SENSORS)?

If there were any type of vacuum leaks wouldn't my

engine be idling rough?

Do you have the 4.6L engine?

Have you checked the rubber elbow that attaches to the intake plenum?

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ht=p0171+elbow

You can look at causes for the p0171 here.

I actually found it at the rubber elbow you mentioned above...

This has to be what is setting off the code....

Thanks for the feedback and let us know how its going. Autozone might reset your ODBII code for free but if they don't then you can disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and that should clear your code.

The CEL should not appear with that code again if you replace all the leaking vacuum lines.Did you buy the pcv kit(pcv valve, tube, rubber boot, misc. vacuum lines) from your Ford dealer? Ive had to buy a few from Ford to fix the same problem on friends' F150s and E150s.Thats why I said originally to check your vacuum lines;been there, done that! Glad to hear its fixed!
