Iridium spark plug help / ?

I recently turned 100k on what was my new truck( 2001 f-150 4.6) . I ordered a set of NGK iridium IX plugs and the set of 8 new coil packs from Troyer for $200. I now have people telling me that I will have problems with any plug other that the stock motorcraft plugs and stock coils. Has any one had problems with the Iridium plugs or the coil packs from Troyer? Has any one had sucess? Thanks in advance.

If Mike Troyer recommended them, they will work just fine. I have never heard of Mike making a sale without a lot of research and first-hand experience. Great combination! Good luck with the upgrade.

Mike is a trustworth guy. As for the plugs, if you go Bosch or some other off brand, you may meet some problems. NGK, Denso, Motorcraft seem to be the best for reliability.

Jot down all the names of these people on a piece of paper. At the top of the paper write: "People who have no clue what they're talking about". Gotta love them experts!

I have a 2001 5.4L truck with an ATI Procharger and I've been using only NGK Iridium IX plugs for over two years now, never had a problem.

200k

Recently I replaced coils and plugs on my 03 Explorer with the 4.6 engine with Denso Iridium and Troyer coils. No problems at all.

It is my understanding that the coils Troyer is selling are, in fact, "stock" coils. When I bought mine recently I was told that there were no companies presently making upgraded coils and that he was simply selling "stock" coils at a decent price.

So there is no confusion, I am speaking of the COP (coil on plug) coil design, not the older twin coil pack and plug wire design of which there are any number of companies making upgraded coil packs.

Installed the NGK Iridium plugs in Sept. at ~80K+ miles.
Have driven approx. 7K miles since with no problems.

Thumbs up Plugs & Coil at 65,000

I'm really glad I read your posts. My 02 F-150 Super Crew just turned 65,000 and developed a miss. The code reader said it was the Crank Position Indicator and a that #7 had a misfire. Well, I figured that I'd see if the CPS fixed the miss.... it didn't and I just got through pulling the plugs, Coils, and Injectors off.
Jeez I though my old 289 Mustang plugs were a pain... these are just not fun.
I guess I might as well change all the coils while I'm in there.

Has anyone had trouble with the Injectors???

I also have the iridums and coils on my 2001 supercharged supercrew from Mike troyer, and have had no problems. Any part Mike sells seems to be proven to perform on these F150's He hand picks and tests these parts so they performe well. I have always been totally satisfied with his products and recomendations.

i went to troyer but i did not see the coils for my truck. I saw the booster and the plugs but that is all. Are they not carrying them anymore?
