Gasket question.

The gaskets I ordered just came in from Advance Auto Parts. I could not get an IAC gasket from them unless I bought an IAC valve but the old IAC gasket was in fine shape. The throttle body gasket was in good shape but the EGR valve gasket is crumbling away. The Intake Plenum/Intake Manifold gasket is in pretty good shape but it looks to have a hairline crack forming in it.

Now, my question. Do I need to add any gasket dope to any of these gaskets or do they all work solely by compression?

Hurry! I have wrench in hand as I speak.

I don't know if they are cheaper but I paid:

61048 - $1.48

51050 - $0.68

70802 - $1.98

And then 7.20% tax ($.30). Geez for a total of $4.44.

Yeah but the Motorcraft may be better quality. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

I have been unemployed for a couple of years and counting so cheap is in. I feel like I am on some blacklist.

Well, I believe someone else got them from their dealership for cheaper.

But eh, who knows.

Hehe. I need you folks to fill in "A miracle occurs here" part of the theory.

http://www.spsnational.org/images/miracle.jpg

You know how it is. The manual gives you a general description that something needs to be done but leaves out the tools and materials required to perform that action.

If the engine is bad then replace the engine.

Oh yeah, I can just snap my fingers and presto! New engine appears.

I have not worked on cars for the last 20 years and materials and procedures have changed a lot. I learn new stuff every day. I really like the COPs on my F150. Goodbye points, distributer, coils dwell angles etc. and good riddance!
