air filters
From what I can see from the pictures MAC uses a chrome pipe and locates the IAC connector and the Crancase vent tube close to the OEM location where as Airaid uses a silver pipe and has those connectors closer to the MAF. MAC uses smooth connectors to reduce turbulance but both use one of the connectors to step down from the 3½" OD of the MAF to the 3" OD of the TB. The Airaid does it in front of the TB so the whole pipe is 3½" in diameter and the MAC From the Pictures in the MAC site the installed 4.6 system shows the use of smooth connectors but the step down is immediatly after the MAF so the pipe is only 3" in diameter. Both locate the IAT sensor in the tube after the MAF. Both fasten the filter assy to the body in or close to the OEM location.
FWIW I made my own.
