Hello,

I'm considering a 1996 F-150 XLT for sale. It has 161000 miles. It has the 302 v8 with automatic transmission.

I'm wondering what to expect out of this vehicle. How long do these motors last?

The seller wants $3500 and I need to plan out a maintenance budget.

It is hard to tell. It depends on how the engine has been driven and serviced. I have heard of these engines lasting for more than 300,000.

Yeah, I can do all those things. Was just owndering if there were common failure points on these vehicles as I don't know them very well...
