Question STROKE vs Durafart I mean max LOL

I have a buddy that has a 00' SD with a stoke and a buddy that just bought a 02'' HD with the duramax. They havent hooked them up yet but every time we all get together its who's truck has more power.......then I put my 2 cents in and say that stroke will pull that cheby apart hahah. I dont know what he was thinking was he bought that.....it wasent with a clear mind.

So has anybuddy ever hooked this combo up before?

As much fun as it would be to do that, think about it first. You are hooking two trucks that are rated at towing in excess of 12K lbs each. So realistically these trucks could move 30K lbs in low range (unoffically of course) each. So if both trucks got amazing traction and your strap or chain could hold over 60K lbs you'd probably shear one of the tow hitches off and the winner would have thousands of dollars in damage due to a 100 lb hitch being slung at him like a tetherball. That's if neither drivetrain gives out first. And if nobody gets killed in the process.

The real winner of that pull-off would be the guy that says "I'm not doing that with my $35,000 truck."

You wanna compare 'em? Run them side by side with a similiar load behind them. That'd be much safer and much more rational.

Yeah, you'd have to have some sort of "tractor pull" to really see who can pull more.....

Hooking them up rear to rear would not really prove much.

There is/was a show called Junkyard Wars and one of the first shows had the two teams build a "puller".

One had a big ol' V8 with an auto trans and the other a V6 and a manual. They did make them weigh the same if I remember....

Well, when they were both running it was a stand still. Both just sat there and spun their tires. The only time one pulled the other was if the other broke. I think the V6 ended up winning because the V8 lost it's trans on the last run........

The funny thing is that I had two buddies who did what you guys are talking about by having each truck pulling a horse trailer. The SD was 7.3 had it kept up with the Duramax but the Duramax pulled foward by a nose going up hill. The one guy almost went out and bought him a 6.0 SD but he says the 7.3 he has will out pull the 6.0. I guess he loves his 7.3.

The 6.0 PSD is still a new engine. Some kinks are still getting worked out but I think it's in good shape now. There were some issues with the first runs.

The 7.3 is a pretty solid engine though, and should run you into no problems.

I guess hooking them up wouldent be a very good idea. But when you get 2 sh_t talkers in a room together......well you know what I mean.....Im a big Ford fan so im gonna want the Ford to out pull the chebby.

But I think my buddys SD would out pull the HD. The stroke has exhaust, chip, and some air pipe. I dont really know much about diesels. Allthough I want one....but I couldent ever give up my 97'' F150 4x4 5.4
Thanks for the imput guys.

The only thing that would be hurt is the ego of the person who lost.
