Truck just dies or is on its last leg

I have been having some issues with my truck over the past few weeks. I was stopped and a red light and it just died!!! Put into Nuetral and started right back up. Then yesterday I was driving on the highway for about 30min and had to slow down due to traffic when all of a sudden the truck dies. This time it will not start after the first try it takes me about 5 trys before it turns over. While driving it still on the highway no exit coming up the truck wants to die anytime the rpm's get near idle. Now it seems when I drive it it feels like something it pulling from the back then letting go after a while. Or like a big wind gush is pushing the truck or holding her back.....No check engine light before it happens only after. When it does die and I try to turn it over acts like its going to start but doesnt.

Need some help....

Truck has 83500 miles.

I had the fuel filter replaced about 20k ago. I will get it changed again and see if that resolves the problem. Thanks for the input.

Probably your feul pump. Had the same thing happen to me on a Chevy once. I know. I've learned from my mistakes. I'm a Ford man now. I'd be willing to bet that's the problem though.

We have had the same problem in some of our work vans,, stalling at a stop light.. Stalling at idle.
We found the IAC was sticking closed.. Might want to try cleaning it. You can search on IAC and there are some great threads telling how to do it.

Good Luck

Could be your fuel filter maybe Do you ever run your truck down on emptey.....like in the red? If you have any junk in the tank it will plug the filter up and the engine wont get enough fuel to run right. Only reason I say this is because I have a few family members that are famous for that.....and guess what, there the ones that always have the car trouble. I've never seen this on a newer F150 but it prolly could happen I would think.

Just a thought

be sure the air filter is in good shape and clean your mass air flow sensor. plenty of posts on hwo to clean, very easy. from your post it sounds like the truck runs fine when it needs gas i.e. if you put the pedal down and the truck runs fine then gas supply doenst sound like the issue. more like the air to fuel mixture is wrong which means maf cleaning time, assuming the air clearner is in good shape.
