Question added Horse power

'01 SCrew Lariat. I have the 4.6 in it but i would like a little extra horse power, nothing too drastic, maybe a computer chip or air filter, any suggestions to what i could do to gain a little bit of horse power to my ride?
Thanks

I'd do a chip/tuner first. If you want a bit more, I'd add a K&N filter and a muffler. Many do chip/tuner, aftermarket air intake kit, and cat-back.

no matter what you do a 4.6 will never have enough power. I have the same engine, I have done the K&N filter charger, flowmaster, throttle body spacer, and hypertech. Nothing will giver you much more power. If you have 4x4 don't worry because they have great low end torque. Ford should redesign that motor!!!! The only good out of all I have done is my mileage has gone from about 10 to 14. Oh I have a 3" lift and 33x12.50x 16.5's so that doesn't help much either. Have fun.

Lose the spacer and hypertech, get the full K&N intake, a Superchip, and true 2 1/4" duals with an X or H-pipe. It should react about like mine did, minus the lift and monster tires that is. I have a sound file of my truck to prove it, if anyone cares to hear it, hehe. It's not bad for a lowly 4.6 Super Cab.,,,,98

Not really a HP mod, but a FTVB creates awesome shifts. You will never get tired of the truck shifting!

Yea, chip and intake and exhaust. Good stuff.

The 4.6 is more than enough for the truck. It is not designed to be fast it is a pickup and is average. Now that you added huge tires and a lift expect to lose power. Redesign the motor make's little sence, these motors have proven themselves bulletproof time and again. GEEz Redesign the motor get real man.

For the performance for the money I'd look into getting a computer chip. From there I would then look at electric fans, underdrive pulleys, and then a cat-back exhaust in that order.

Intake and Superchip of some kind. Custom tune is the best, like the Microtuner 9100. Order them together and save about $50.
