Question Airforce One Help Please

Have had my AF1 on for about a year, no problems. All of the sudden this afternoon I am getting this loud roaring coming from the filter area. I have disconnected and reconnected everything and no better. Anyone else experienced this and have a fix. Thanks.

PS - I did a search, found no help.

You're gonna have to be alot more descriptive than that. I have messed up just about anything you can on an intake, but you need to give us some more info. Does it do that at all RPM's? Maybe it's just at idle? Did you mess with it beforehand? Is your engine performing just right?

Thanks there devil for the quick reply. I took the truck out just now to try to answer your questions. Noise was there at idle as I pulled out of the garage, then it disappeared and I did not hear it again. Truck is running fine. Let's hope the noise stays away.

after 2 yrs with mine I noticed it too at idle when it is real humid outside. So most of the time it is silent, but maybe once a month I hear it, but my solution to the problem is to just put your foot into it and it will go away!

Well, it is back and pretty consistently at idle I have a whine or roar that stops immediately upon application of the throttle. It is annoying and I am cleaning the filter today in hopes of reducing the noise. Anybody else have this and know a solution. Thanks.

Are you sure that it is the intake making the noise. Could it be the power steering? Try turning the wheels at idle to see if the noise changes.

Nope definitley the intake. When I remove the filter it stops making the noise.

If you weren't so sure that it's your FIPK causing the problem I would have suggested you take a look at the fan clutch. When someone describes a roar under the hood this is often the problem.

My bet is still the fan clutch. And maybe just maybe when you pull the filter off it changes the rpm just enough to stop the fan noise. Intakes make sucking and whistling noises and fan clutches roar.

Just a thought.
