K&N recommends cleaning performed every 50,000mi. i found that mine had to be cleaned at around 30,000mi. a good price for these? they are all $10 where i look. so its not really worth the time to search for a "good price.

Cleaning kits from K&N can be purchased usually from anyone that sells the filters, I purchased mine from Advanced Auto for about $12. I usually clean mine after every oil change, what can it hurt? I would recommend that you make sure the filter is good and dry before applying the filter oil.
