F150 5.0 liter cap & rotor replacement

Just replaced the distributor cap & rotor on my 1995 5.0 liter F-150 Flareside, and it runs much rougher than it did pre-change. Was very careful to match the plug wires to the new cap, but hadn't chg'd a rotor in a long time and was wondering if there was more than 1 way to put it in. Also, looking for some type of plug wiring diagram to make sure that they are in fact in the right order. Any help and thoughts appreciated!!

The rotor will only go on one way because of the notch in it. It matches up to the key on the distributer shaft. IF I'm not mistaken, the pistons are 1 thru 4 on the left bank (front to rear) and 5 thru 8 on the right bank. I don't have access to my book (I'm at work, sorry!) but you should be able to find the firing order on the internet. Also, buy a service manual if you plan on keeping the truck. I have used mine on numerous occasions to get me out of a bind.
