Sounds like dry engine on startup

My 2001 Supercrew 5.4 with 49,000 miles makes a dry engine noise on startup when it's been sitting for a while (overnight, while I'm at work, etc.) The noise goes away after about 5 seconds, but I don't like the sound of it because I've always been told that most of the wear on a motor occurs at startup, after the oil drains to the lowest point. I've used the Ford dealer almost exclusively for oil changes. Used Amsoil for 1 interval, but saw no advantage so I recently went back to the dealer (1 week ago). I think they put 5w20 in the truck. Anybody else have this problem. Or better yet, anybody know how to get rid of it? I searched the archives, but didn't find anything that matched too well.

Oops. Saw new info.

Oops. Rechecked the archives and found lots of info. Most of it refers to pre 2000 engines. Mine is a 2001. Does the poston slap still apply to the newer engines? Could the synthetic change by me 2 changes ago be making it worse? It did it before the syn switch, however.
