rough idle 04 f150 heritage
2004 F150xlt Heritage S/C Longbed, 4.6L, 2400 miles. This is really just a 2003, re-badged.
In neutral, a slight vibration is felt through the seats.
Once engine is fully warm and idle settles to 650,
vibration significantly shakes seats while stopped with
transmission engaged in reverse or drive. Idle seems to
hold steady at 650. Vibration is slight while in neutral or park,
idle steady at 700. The truck has always had a high pitch whine sound,
which I believe is the power steering.
While driving, truck operates normally and very smoothly.
First service visit, computer check and test drive concluded 'No Problem Found'.
Second visit, service manager acknowledged the problem
existed and performed a 'balance' on the engine, transmission,
and exhaust mounts. Driving home, vibration again and now seems to be a little worse.
Going back to service next week, any suggestions?

I guess the keyword in the TSB is OPTIONAL
I will investigate this with the service manager.
It will be funny if this is the real problem and this becomes another tale about How the Internet Fixed My Truck!

the easiest way to at least isolate which cylinder may have a problem is to use the WDS, check the mode 6 data and find out which cylinder(s) are having misfire problems. from there it needs to be determined what is causing it either fuel or spark. Which engine do you have? the 5.4 liters have had a problem with the coils.
