here in south alabama, the pine pollen is horrendous and it finds its way into every nook and cranny.

For cleaning my engine I have used Gunk type products. And rinsed with a garden hose. Did not cover anythink and have not had any problems.

I have purchased Seafoam at Carquest, Napa, and Oriely Auto Parts. Works great !

Try a little Simple Green. Spray on and let set for a few minutes then rinse off. Don't "blast" off with high pressure. Cover open air filters (K&N, AF1, etc), cover any exposed electrical terminals and just be prudent.

Cleaned my engine a couple weeks ago and had no problems.

I like a 50/50 mix of ammonia and vinegar. Cleans fast and safe and inexpensive.

Shouldn't you be kind of careful around the plug wells? I mean, if I can't hit a mudhole at 20 mph without throwing mud up on the plug wells and fouling out a plug, I wouldn't recommend spraying it out.
