Question Help!! Heater Hose Clamps

How the heck do they expect you to remove the heater hoses from the heater core? What's up with those funky clamps? Is there a special tool required?
Please Help.

Thanks!!!!!

They are not clamps. The hoses have quick-disconnect fittings on them. If you look closely, you will see (2) plastic tabs sticking out from the area at the end of the fittings. The tabs are 180 degrees apart and have to be squeezed simultaneously to disengage the retainers, which will release the hose. You might want to push (a little) the hose assy. towards the firewall while squeezing the tabs.

yankee, is right , some times the two o rings and the spacer get jumbed up to the heater pipe so you need to break them loose. i started with the lower hose. i was able to spin it so i could get a better grip.

Cool

HI!... I used the fuel filter tool on mine and it came off in two seconds. I then cut off the crappy fittings and went back to a typical hose and double hose clamp.
