fan belt slippage

Evening everybody, Hopefully some of you can answer my question. Under wide open throttle, when its damp out or raining, My belt sometimes squeals when the rpms hit around 4500 - 5000, so I would believe that its slipping. What can I do to fix this problem, thanks

Buy and install a Gotorback belt.

Replace the belt with a new one. Yours is starting to glaze.

Gatorbacks are good belts, but a new Motorcraft or Kelly Springfield will also serve you well.

scapegoat32;
Before you buy a new belt, check to make sure that the tensioner is moving freely. My belt used to chirp when I started my truck and I found that the tensioner was seized. I was able to remove it and clean & lube it. It was as good as new when I replaced it. I have 215,000 kms on my original belt and it's still fine. You may still need a new belt but check it all first. GlennMc.
