How long can it sit?

I havent been able to start or move my truck for about 4 weeks. It is parked in the garage and the weather here is still cold. When I feel better I will take her for a long drive. My question is am I hurting anything if I dont rush to do this? Thanks.

I would definitely change the oil before I cranked her back up. Actually, I'd go ahead and drain it and then refill it when it was time to get her out.

Are you serious? Change the oil after sitting only 1 month?
1 month is nothing, my stang sits all winter, I never drive her in any rain or snow. I start it and let it warm up to operating temp every 2 weeks or so but 1 month just doesnt seem like that long at all.

If you think about how long a vehicle sits on a dealers lot I don't think you would worry about a 1 month period. Whatever you do, don't drain the oil like someone else suggested (no flame intended) and then fill it again before you use it. That would do nothing for the engine and if you forgot that it had been drained and started it without filling, you would be shopping for a new motor. Sit back, relax and it will be fine when you are ready to use it. GlennMc.

If you plan to store it for 2 or more months, I'd add some Stabil fuel treatment to the gas.

Brain fart, sorry about that. 30 days, I would just leave it as-is and put a cover on it. For some reason, I was thinking that he said 3 months, even though the post clearly says 1 month. Sorry about that!
