Don't forget to do an oil change after using a solvent that is as powerful as that product is. In fact, any FI cleaner users should do an oil change after the product has burned off. Even on an engine with good piston rings there will always be a little blow-by that gets to the crankcase.

I'm not sure I understand what the problem would be. It says right on the can of seafoam that you can add it too your oil. Why would this be a problem???

Frank is correct. I always do an oil change after a SeaFoam intake ingestion cleaning. Why? The carbon you are cleaning is on top of the pistons and on the valves. When you ingest the SeaFoam into the cylinders it is a liquid form. And,it can get by the piston rings and into the oil.Do you want that carboned oil lubricating your engine until who knows when the next oil change is? I dont!

I guess I need to change the oil here soon anyway because I poured 6 ounces into my crankcase about 350 miles ago. Just doing what the can said. I planned on putting about 500 miles on it with that stuff in the crankcase for better cleaning.

Jvangel,I was reading the can and it says "1-1/2 oz. per quart of oil". It does not say anything about how long to keep it in the crankcase. As strong as it is,and with its high cleaning ability,I would not leave it that long in my oil. Let us know how your engine runs after you change the oil. I'm intrested.

It's running no differently since adding it to my oil and I'm going to change the oil when I get home from work this afternoon. I will post my findings, or lack there of when I'm finished. I guess I'm going to have a clean engine. By the way, my car's a 1995 Saturn with 195000 miles on it. I didnt do the oil treatment to my truck.
