I am building a race truck and will be putting a turbo 400 trans in the 2001 5.4 triton. i was wondering if anyone knew of a stand alone fuel system i can use, because the stock one will not work with the new trans. Thanks

 

HI!... Not that I have heard of for the FORD's, but there are many STAND ALONE systems for the *RICERS*. Just curious, why are you using a TURBO 400 trans? A 4R-100 trans bulit right is like 3 times stronger than a TURBO 400 and you also get a 4TH gear (O/D). Please don't tell me your going to put a cheby engine in a FORD F-150? It's your truck, do what you want , but if you are prepare to get flamed on here.

 

The 4R100 trannies don't seem to hold up in the desert race trucks. Even when built right, they aren't as strong as the older ones. I could use a C6, or a turbo 400 both would work. Definitely NOT thinking of putting a Chevy engine in

 

HI!... You should contact GREG EVANS on here. He goes by *FACTORY TECH*. He helped design the 4R-100 tranny. He has his own tranny building company that builds the worlds strongest 4R-100 transmissions. If I remember the #'s correctly thay are rated to hold 2400FT/LBS of TQ and like 1500H.P. They are called the FACTORY TECH *MONSTER BOXES*. The LIGHTNING guys swear by them. They are in some of the fastest LIGHTNINGS in the worls 10 second E.T and faster and have not failed. Greg also has a warrenty on them too. Something like, if you break it he will fix it for free or something like that. I don't want to put words in GREG's mouth but mabey he will chime in and help you out here.
