Engine Hesitation

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum. I just traded my Ranger for a 93 F150 Supercab 4X4 with a 302. One problem the F150 has{which the guy who sold it to me told me about} is that its hesitates sometimes under a moderate load. It only does this for a second. It is almost like a hiccup. At the same time this happens the check engine light comes on. The previous owner had the routine things changed like plugs, wires, cap and fuel filter.

Has anybody had this experience?

The truck has 165000 miles on it.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Ask the previous owner if he used aftermarket plugs, etc. in lieu of the motorcraft brand.
