5.4L PI Casting Number all the same? Expert help needed!
Guys
I'm looking to buy a truck out of state. I had the dealership check the ID number on the 5.4 to confirm it's a PI. The truck in question is a 1999 F250LD. I have seen both PI and NON PI engines in the 99 model year 250LD.
To make a long story short I referred the dealership to this forum to a post https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ht=5.4+heads+e that showed the way to ident the heads.
He sent back the numbers he pulled off the head. His number < RF-XL3E-6090-C20D <PI> > Thats the SAME exact casting number off the head in the photo! Does it stand to reason ALL the PI head numbers would be the same? Like the "E7" head found on a lot of late model 5.0 Mustangs?
Just trying to look out for myself.
5.4L experts please chime in!

HI!... TOM : Here is a pic of the casting # off my old heads. These came off a "99" F-150 5.4. The # is the same as you posted.

As far as I know any modular head that has "P.I" in the casting # IS a POWER IMPROVED head.
