Cobra R Water Pump

Does anyone suggest using a cobra waterpump with Troyer's pullies? I read an article where they're more efficient and move more water. Also, what is the part number if anyone's done this already. My motor is a 97 4.6 8 rib. Thanks.

Question

HI!... I mabey wrong, but I thought it was the COBRA "R" pump you wanted. The 4.6 COBRA engine uses the same W/P that all the 4.6/5.4's use.

Thanks guys. I may have been mistaken. I vaguely remembered the article and it showed 2 photos. The stock one was the regular impeller/fan style and the other one had a water wheel like a steamboat. Just a shot at something better.

Hey...We're saying your right...The Cobra R pump is better it has an enclosed impeller like you said..Unlike the open type that is stock..

Stock

Mark VII

I've heard of people dyno'ing before and after, and saying the enclosed pump lost HP. Thats BS, what they are comparing is a tight new pump, against a broken in looser stock pump. If you run them equal miles, the enclosed is hands down better, moves more water, and used less power too.
