Bad pcv, how to tell
V-8?...Passenger side on valve cover..pull it straight up and pull hose off...installation is reverse...you may want to check that same hose for cracks especcially behind the throttle body where it turns to attach to it...they crack and have a leak that affects the idle
What engine do you have,,, if it is a 5.4 ,, the are notorious for the rubber elbow on the pcv tube to rot apart and cause a huge vacuume leak, causing the engine to miss and stumble .
This elbow is behind the throttle body right up next to the firwall..
Find the PCV valve in the passenger side valve cover and then follow the plastic tube ,, this will lead you to the suspect elbow.
With the engine running,, being careful of moving parts, reach back and move the boot with your finger,, if it is bad you will feel the vacuume on your finger..
