Rough idle and loping

Well for any of you that have read or responded to my previous posts I appreciate it.But,here I am again.Just about got all the bugs worked out of the new motor.Wound up replacing the air temp.sensor, egr positioning sensor. The truck seems to idle fair in park, but after a few seconds in gear it wants to lope and stall. Is there any way to have it hooked up and adjust the idle in gear by computer?Just trying to find out before taking it to the shop.It only lopes at a lower idle, when you apply gas to it ,it runs great.

New Motor huh..........

Well since you said you have a new motor I am willing to bet you
have a vacuum leak. Listen under the hood for a hissing sound while running. Also spraying carb cleaner around the engine to find source of leak is helpful. However I did not read your other post.

Just because the TPS is new doesn't mean it isn't bad. test it.

Your problem is also common to a vac/gasket leak on the intake manifold

Make sure the MAF is clean and there are no leaks in the intake system

I don't believe that you can make an idle change when in gear. the PCM is set up to maintain idle in all conditions due to sensor input. So knowing that the two most common causes of idle problems (also knowing the trucks runs fine otherwise) are dirty/faulty MAF and/or dirty/faulty TPS/IAC

In some cases it can also be a bad/dirty crank position sensor

Good luck-
