Searched a bunch of threads about this and haven't found clear enough info on where the coolant temp sensor is on a 2000 5.4 engine. I did find the coolant sender on the drivers side head behind the thermostat housing, but its the black connector for the dash gauge. The coolant crossover only has a blank plug in it, so I guess the only other location I've heard of is in the intake manifold? Can anyone point me to where this sensor could be, or tell me if the 2000 5.4 even has two coolant sensor/sender(s) on it? Thanks!

Kb,

The 00 5.4 uses the CHT ( Cylinder head Temperature) sensor, it doesn't have a coolant temp sensor.

Thanks Jean, That helps a bunch. My local repair man scanned the codes for me and told me that's what came up, but he also said to try a new thermostat. Napa had a sensor for that year so I just assumed it would be there somewhere.
