Its only a 281ci hence the advantage of SOHC to get the power you have.

Brahmus,

Any idea how much something like that costs? Nice to know something like that is at least possible. Or better yet, maybe a post to a link about what all is entailed in that?

geeesh, I just found a stroker kit for this, and it costs $3000 or some crud.... Nevermind about it... lol

A 4.6 and a 5.0 are two completely different animals. The 4.6 is a modular engine, and the 5.0 is not. The 4.6 is a 281, though, you were right, and unless you have a deeper pocketbook than mine, there aren't too many super-performance upgrades that you can do to one.

Exclamation

HI!... Pickup Man : He was reffering to after market companies that have stroker kits to turn a 4.6 (281c.i) into a 5.0 (320c.i). It involves a new spiecal stroker crank and longer rods.

I really never understood the mentality behind dumping any sort of real money into a 4.6 on a truck to make it go faster. Sure I can understand small stuff like a catback, maybe some headers, an air intake system, and a chip. But a stroker? Come on now. If you really want power and speed that bad, buy something at least with a 5.4 in it, or just get a Lightning. But hey, that's just my thoughts. If you've got the money to spend and that's what you want, more power to ya. I'll be over here saving up for a mint 93 Cobra.

Oh how I wish I would've kept my blown 95 L

Like I say it makes more sense after about 5 years or so, if your still keeping the truck. I mean, if the parts were say $800 or less maybe.

There are valid reasons to go with the 4.6 to start with, but possibly improve it down the road for myself anyways.

This 04 F-150 is a Daily Driver for my significant other, and even the 4.6L with the Regular Cab and 3.73 gears is a little to much for her in all honesty.
In a few years it will no longer be a daily driver, as we are going for early retirement within about 2 years from now.

Its pretty easy to convert Liters to CID if you don't know the exact number. Just remember this 300 I-6 is a 4.9L a 302 V-8 is a 5.0L. So for arguments sake just call it 60.5 cubic inches per liter.
4.6 X 60.5 = 278.3 not exact but close.

The engine manufacturers use some hocus pocus with thier numbers.

What's wrong w/ the 4.6l in a truck? Mine ran 14.59 @ 93.18mph... sure, I starved the fuel pump out and damaged the engine... but that could have been prevented.

Cool

HI!... No offence, but what did your truck run without the nitrous??? Just curious. What size shot did you use.
