Throttle Position Sensor

Hello All. Can you tell me what symtoms would show if a TPS sensor was out or was going out? In the morning I have to lightly apply gas / throttle to barley keep the truck moving, if I apply to much throttle the truck begins to ping and sputter. Thanks for your help!

you need to get a voltage meter and back probe the wires. at idle the it should register between between 0.5 and 1.0. you need to move the throttle forwards and watch the the voltage. it should climb steadily. if it jumps around, then it needs to be replaced.
