starting somewhere on engine mods

Hey all, I had a question about engine mods, i have a new 4.6 supercrew that i wish had more juice. My question is if you add a new intake is that gonna give more gains than a set of headers and exhaust? I plan on taking a slow piece by piece approach. Anyone know if i will void my warranty on the headers?
Thanks, Matt

From what I've heard the headers will give you the biggest power increase. I'm planning on getting a set this spring. I currently have a K&N filter and a flowmaster catback exhaust. I'm not saying I had a huge power increase, but I could feel each of them. Not sure if its true or not, but I've been told that if you can feel the difference you've got at lease 10 hp out of it. The first couple seconds off the line is where I could tell the most.

Heads and Exhaust will give more than a cold air intake but you're looking at a lot more money.

The Magnaflow cat-back gave me around .2s in the quarter mile. I don't have headers on my truck so I wouldn't know.

The best mod I say is a Superchip. You can really tell the difference with the shifts and it adds a lot to the 4.6l engine in 2nd gear. Without the chip a friend use to pull on me through all the gears. All I did was add the chip and in 1st he barely pulled and as soon as I hit second I would just fly right by him. It was a really nice improvement.

I did electric fans and underdrive pulleys at the same time and you could tell a big difference with them in the seat of your pants. I couldn't give you 1/4 mile improvements with them though. The E-fans really open up the engine compartment in terms of room.

I had my 4.6l running 14.5s on the juice. Broke something though but I'll be back up eventually.
